2012 Thursdays in the Parks…Winter Series 1-3
RWB offers this widely popular, guided walking series. Join us every Thursday morning as we head to some fantastic destinations! Especially designed for those of you who would like to explore our NW parks and trails in a leisurely and enjoyable way, we will venture out every week to a new location. We’ll meet at the Burlington Senior Center and travel together to learn about new trails and meet future walking friends. Each trail is easy to moderate and never gains more than 300 feet in elevation.

Snoqualmie Snowday...Snowshoe and Snowplay!
A winter wonderland awaits you! Today we'll head to Iron Horse State Park and the John Wayne Pioneer Trail. Once here we will venture out for an easy to moderate snowshoe hike along this former railroad grade. The views and surroundings will take your breath away! If time allows we will stop on the way home for a no-host treat. Snowshoes and poles will be provided. A detailed supplies list will be available at registration.

Chinese New Year in Vancouver, BC!
It’s the Year of the Dragon! Join us as we head north and enjoy all the festivities associated with the amazing Vancouver Chinatown Spring Festival Celebration. Vancouver, BC is home to the largest Chinatown in all of Canada and the New Year Parade is their signature event. With lion dances, dance troupes, marching bands and more, the parade and adjoining festival is a cultural extravaganza not to be missed! After crossing the border we’ll jump aboard the Skytrain in King George and take in all the sights of the lower mainland before arriving in the Chinatown area. Once there we’ll enjoy lunch at an authentic restaurant, watch the parade, visit the nearby cultural center and maybe even get some shopping in! Bring cash for lunch and any additional purchases. Wear warm, weather appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes. And don’t forget your camera! Cypress Mountain/Hollyburn Lodge Winter Adventure
Enjoy the winter delights and scenery at British Columbia's beautiful Cypress Mountain. See nature at her best! This year we've added a new twist...choose from either snowshoeing or cross country skiing! Both are easy to moderate and follow excellent groomed trails in the Hollyburn Ridge area. Pack a sack lunch and drinks (no fruits or vegetable snacks please) or bring money for soup or chili in the quaint, rustic lodge. Not Fit, Not Fat But Somewhere In Between
Hiking Trips Do you have a sense of adventure? Come and enjoy the beauty of the Northwest on this Winterl series of outings. Sign up for one or both...you choose! Considered moderate hikes (or snowshoeing!), participants should be able to hike approximately 6 - 8 miles with an elevation gain between 500 to 1,200 total feet. The views of the mountains, rivers, old growth trees and more will be breathtaking. If time allows we'll stop on the ride home for a no-host treat after each hike.
